This sponsored post is brought to you by Cantu and I got the opportunity to review Cantu products. Be proud of me, babes. I am still keeping up with my hair these days. I made a vow to spend more time caring for my hair and like clockwork, I’ve been doing deep conditioners and daily scalp massages. My hair is thriving and I couldn’t be happier.
You’ve heard of Cantu, right? I’ve been using their products for years and though the packaging has changed and the ingredients are different, it appears that they are even better than ever. I mean, the packaging alone is up my alley because they’ve got for Natural Hair on everything which tells me that these products are likely formulated for people with hair like mine. Yeah mon!
Basically, Cantu had me a hello! I received the following products to test drive. The ones in bold are what I’ll be talking about in this post.
- Suflate Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo
- Sulfate Free Hydrating Cream Conditioner
- Leave-In Conditioning Cream
- Coconut Curling Cream
- Twist & Lock Gel
As with all brands, these work best when used together. I am so glad to see more sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners on the market. I found that Cantu’s worked beautifully on my hair. Especially since I have color treated hair.
The Cleansing Cream Shampoo lathers nicely but it doesn’t strip the hair. It has a nice and fragrant scent that isn’t overwhelming and I love that little goes a long way.
I used both the Hydrating Cream Conditioner and the Leave-In Conditioning Cream and both are creamy, luscious and add that additional moisture that is typically lost after shampooing. I can see myself using the Hydrating Cream Conditioner has a co-wash product (meaning I’ll use it instead of a shampoo) and the Leave-In Conditioner, well…it rocks. I used it all over, covered my hair for an hour and was left with moisturized curls. LOVE!
I’ll try my hand at the Curling Cream for a different style but for this look, I wanted to use the Twist & Lock Gel. I use products like these regularly for doing 2-strand twists.
This gel is some kind of awesome because not only is it creamy, but it is far from heavy and crunchy. In fact, it almost felt as if I was adding a conditioner on my hair. After applying and then twisting on wet hair, I was left with moisturized twists that made for a fabulous twist out the next day.
Yet another reason why I will continue to be a Cantu fan. Their gentle products (while also removing mineral oil, sulfates, parabens and silicone) are powerful and effective for this kinky haired babe.
