As a Mom to a very talkative and energetic 2-year old, I love my me time, y’all. And it doesn’t have to be fancy. Shoot, a trip to CVS alone is considered a vacation to me. It happens often considering I’ve got a 3 CVS locations in a 10-mile radius. So when the fine folks at CVS/Pharmacy reached out wanting to do a little collaboration, I was like “Definitelyyyy!”
I’ve done this before. Do you remember? Like before, I was gifted a $50 gift card to buy whatever I wanted. Easy enough, right? I wanted to see if I could get hair, makeup and skincare products that totaled up to $50. Basically, I wanted to get the most bang for my buck. Let’s see how how I did…
Before Shea Moisture landed at CVS stores, I never really found brands that were fitting to my hair texture and styles. Shea Moisture, of course, has changed the game and I’m so happy that CVS carries them. And sooo, I scooped up two of their most loved products, their Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo and the matching Conditioner.
Scootin’ on over to the cosmetics, I knew that I needed a mascara and I’ve been hearing great things about Rimmel’s Wonder’Lash Mascara with Argan Oil. I’ll save my review for a Mascara Monday post but so far, so good. I’ve always had faaaabulous experiences with Rimmel mascaras so it’s no shocker that this one turned out to be pretty stellar.
I also grabbed a NYX eyeliner in Sunrise Blue and one of their Mega Shine Lip Glosses in Natural.
I always forget that NYX is at CVS stores! I’m tellin’ y’all…if you’re looking for fantastic and affordable cosmetics, NYX is it! And apparently I’m not the only one that feels this way because the particular NYX display that I was looking at was ransacked. Dang. But in addition to grabbing some cosmetics, I was in the market for some makeup remover so I grabbed NUANCE Salma Hayek’s Makeup Remover…
You know I love this brand, right? I mean check this out. And this. Aaaand this. Sold exclusively at CVS, this brand has captured my heart and hasn’t let go. In fact, last month I repurchased the face powder for the 4th time. I go hard. I knew I was getting close to my $50 limit and I really wanted a nail polish. Of course I didn’t reeeeally need one (says no nail polish lover ever) but I did need a crystal nail file. I grabbed one from Beauty 360.
With my goodies and coupons and, I made it to the front to see if I was able to spend under $50. Aaaaand…
Dang it. $51.80. But what you didn’t see is that 2-minute ordeal I made the nice man at CVS do once I realized I forgot to give him my $2 ExtraBucks.
That, my friends, took my total back down to $49.80. Heyyyyy! I did it! And you can too because I’m giving away a $50 gift card to CVS!
