I’m not into Halloween. And never have been. Growing up we spent most Halloweens at church for fall festivals. I never minded them and by the time I had a choice in the matter, going trick-or-treating at the mall was a big thing.
I’m not kidding. In the 8th, grade my gal pals and I would paint our faces with $0.88 lipglosses and eye shadow, put on some funky fits and try and look costume’y. It worked, man. We loaded up on candy and I’m grateful for good dental genes because I never had a childhood cavity – despite the fact that I ate my weight in candy every year.
Those were the daysssss.
Now I’ve got chiren. Children, if you’re proper. Every holiday is a big darn deal to kids and preschools do their best at making you feel like you HAVE to overdo it in the holiday department. So, in attempts to
be a Pinterest mom be a mom I can be proud of, I’ve gotten my darling cherubs adooooorable fits. But as for me?
I’m just not into the whole dressing up thing, you guys. Every year I try to force myself into the idea and NOPE. I’m boring for Halloween. I am who I am. What I will do though is I miiiiiight roll around rocking a face mask as a “costume”.
Is that silly or what? I mean, laugh if you want but my skin will be on some serious level of cleanness. It has been a few months of staring at the derma e Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask on my beauty shelf and I finally gave it a whirl.
I didn’t think it would be for me since it’s intended for Normal/Oily skin and I lean towards drier skin but wooooow.
This “charcoal in skincare products” thing is hitting so many brands and not everyone can do it right. derma e has a fan in me with their natural ingredients and nicely priced products. A fabulous follow-up to the Mask is their Youth Purifying Serum. Also ideal for Normal/Oily skin, it was somehow so incredibly moisturizing for my skin. I’ve tossed it in my travel bag and it’ll reside there permanently.
Other reasons why I love derma e:
- They have products for just about all skincare problems/concerns.
- Their products go on sale often (especially at Whole Foods!).
- Fragrance-free? YES!
- Serums, serums and more serums? You bet!
They’re on my radar and this mask will likely be on my mug for Halloween.
Don’t judge me when you catch me in the streets, okay?
Actually NO. Not even a good idea. With the creepy clown thing going around, I need to publicly stay away from kind of mask that resembles clown makeup. *shivers*
Have you ever tried anything from derma e? What do you think?
