I haven’t been riding the subscription box train for awhile. I mean, truthfully…when you are the opposite of a hoarder, more random products that you probably won’t use not only clutters your space but also seem pointless if you’re already beauty blogger. However, when a gal pal told me about The HolBOX, I knew I had to at least give this box a whirl.
First of all, ignore the fact that I have found a way to justify bringing MOAR items up in my house, but here’s why HolBOX is different. You ready? This box is designed for women who want to live a more holistic life. The products featured aren’t just beauty-related. In fact, many have multipurpose uses that can be used for the body (in and out), household, hair, etc. You get 5-7 full size samples of goodies that come to you wrapped in a beautiful piece of fabric that can used for the head or however you see fit. See!! Not just your average beauty box…
Let’s dig in a little closer. I purchased this box for $30 and truthfully, I feel like I more than got my money’s worth. This month’s box was pretty stellar.
2 oz glass jar Skinny & Co Coconut Oil – coconut oil needs no explanation. It is the greatest gift nature has given us. Period and the end. I love how small this is because I think it’ll work beautifully on my travels this summer.
The Honey Pot Feminine Wash – nice size and while I’ve never used washes before (I believe the vagina is a self-cleaning machine that doesn’t need much help) and if I knew the ingredients in this, I’d probably find another use for it. I absolutely love the way it smells.
A bottle of rosewater – I wish The HolBOX had filled in the Product Name here but after spritzing it, it didn’t take me long to realize that it was rosewater! I loooove this stuff. Refreshing before, during or after putting on makeup, I find that rosewater feels divine on the skin. The HolBOX also lists a ton of uses for it here.
Michelle Organics Mint Almond Oil – you had me at oil. This has peppermint in it, so I probably won’t use it on my body, but my hair is screaming for the soothing properties that this oil has.
2 oz bag of powdered ginger – This was a nice surprise. I love ginger tea and ginger candies but I’ve never seen it in a powdered form before. My How To card recommends using this in a bath as ginger does well at pulling out toxic substances to the surface of the skin. Interesting! I want to find other ways to use this, too.
2 oz bag of Turmeric & Neem Body Scrub – This smells wonderful and contains sea salt, jojoba oil, coconut oil and various essential oils. Everything is organic and I’ve been in market for a scrub so I can’t wait to try this.
Others
holBOX provided How-To-Use Cards they provide a bit more information on the products and how to use them.
Oleum Natural Glow Oil & Lip Balm – smaller samples of an indie brand. Excited to try these out, too!
Exfoilating bath gloves – I regularly use these so yay for another pair!
Ups
Fabulously diverse products. LOVE!
Great value. $30 gave me a good amount of products that I’ll actually use PLUS a piece of fabric that I will definitely use.
The holBOX gives great tips on how to use many of the products. Since most are multipurpose, you really get a ton of products.
Downs
The fliers were confusing. I would have loved a little booklet over the 4 pieces of info that came in the box. Also, I got April’s flyer in addition to May’s which REALLY confused me.
The fabric is beautiful but I wish mine was cut a little more evenly.
Ingredients listing are SO important and I think they should be on every product. Unfortunately, many of the items didn’t have listings.
Product labeling is also important. My rosewater, ginger powder and scrub weren’t labeled so it was a mystery as to what they were.
I wish the website gave you a better idea as to what expect. Maybe a feature of past HolBOXes? I think that would definitely appeal to future potential subscribers.
Do I recommend it?
YES! I am still keeping my subscription because each item was really up my alley. And that hardly ever happens. Can’t wait to see what I get next month!
I have never heard of this before! Though my budget has no wiggle room for another sub box, I’ll definitely keep this in mind for when it does.
Never heard of this box but I want it! I’m becoming a natural goodie hoarder. X_X
Now this is a box for me! I too had to let subscription boxes go, I ended up giving all the products away.
Me too! This is the first box that I will actually keep EVERYTHING to myself. That neeeever happens.
I’d love to get my hands on ginger powder!
I am with Krissy! I would love that ginger powder as well! 🙂
I like the idea behind the box but I love mint almond oil.
I am trying desperately to change my product junkie ways but I’d be way more inclined to subscribe to holBOX than to other subscription services. I’d use almost every one of those products within a week of using them, especially the scrub & the ginger powder. Those are the ingredients to a perfect bath
Right? It’s like a serious recipe for relaxation. Can’t wait to experience those two together!
Interesting sub box. I never heard of this service before, thanks for letting me know. Ginger powder definitely caught my attention
I’ve been looking for more holistic sub boxes, this one looks lome a great value!! Thanks for the review!
This would so be up your alley, Jesse!
Pretty cool box, never seen one like it. Plus it brought a lot of items which for the price is not bad for natural products.
this sounds like a great box! I love making scrubs + bath detox teas at home but I think this would be great for getting an intro to some new stuff. hopefully they start labeling more ingredients, I really don’t like using anything without knowing what’s in it.
You and me both!!

I love subscription boxes. I’d never heard of this one though. I love all of the items so it’s definitely a box I’d consider.
Yes, definitely check it out!
