Makeup doesn’t excite me the way it used to. Not even mascara. I’m waiting for this dynamic shift to happen where mascaras will be cool again.
Remember that vibrating mascara phase? Not all that practical but I LOVED mascaras then.
Mascaras with glitter…not for me but still cool.
Fiber mascaras and mascaras of different colors.
Let’s face it, mascaras and so many other products are just meh these days, y’all. So don’t mind me if I live in the Skincare World.
Skincare is making strides. I spent all of 2017 telling myself I would invest more time (ahem…and money) in caring my skin. It worked, y’all.
My skin is looking so good these days. I can’t lie to you.
But there has always been an issue that bugged me.
They were chronically dry. All the time! Couldn’t figure out why because it’s not as if Florida has an actual winter. I spent a pretty penny on MILK Makeup’s Hero Salve to slather on my lips by day and at night. I wasn’t all like LL Cool J and steadily lickin’ my lips.
I can’t remember which beauty lovin’ friend of mine told me about LANEIGE’s Lip Sleeping Mask and I thought, “Yeahhhhh, that’s a grand idea! A sleeping mask for lips!”
But instead of shelling out $20 for that lip mask, what do you think I did? I just slathered my regular Sleeping Mask all over my lips.
I felt witty as hell…as if I was beating the beauty system. I woke up that next morning and I just knew my lips were going to be transformed.
They were not. And now I know WHY there is a difference between a Sleeping Mask and a LIP Sleeping Mask. Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to be cheap (see what I did there? *snort*). I used a Sephora gift card, snagged the actual Lip Mask and let me tell you something…
LANGEIGE’s Lip Sleeping Mask is and does the following things:
- Made without parabens and cruelty-free
- Doesn’t just moisturize but helps flake away dry skin
- Includes hydraulic acid to help trap moisture
- Can be purchased from Sephora or Amazon (Prime, baby!)
I don’t want to sound dramatic but you need this. It couldn’t be easier to use. The consistency is a combination of a cream and a gel. It feels good going on the skin with a very light berry scent that dissipates almost instantly.
And it’s thick but you feel that moisturizing sinking in almost immediately. A little goes a long way so though you only get less than an ounce for $20, this will easily last me for months, especially since I don’t have to use it every day!
And just like that, you go to sleep.
You wake up in the morning, wet a washcloth or towel and gently exfoliate your lips. You’ll notice dry skin just flaking right off. And you, my dear, are left with insanely smooth lips. It’s THAT easy.
If my video review doesn’t convince you that you need this, I’m not sure what will convince you.
Have you or would you ever try a Lip Sleeping Mask?
