Everyone’s kid is a genius, right? I mean seriously…ask any parent and they’ll rattle off how smaaaart their kid is. Even though she makes me want to pull out my 2 inches of hair, EB is seriously one of the brightest stars in my life. The girl is just…wonderful. I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween (you know…in terms of a Halloween costume) this year. I was all prepped to hear something complicated and my nerves were fluttering because I’m just not that creative mom, y’all. Not even a little bit.

Seriously? Gabby Douglas? That’s it? EB has been hooked on Gabby Douglas for over a year now because she watches Lifetime’s The Gabby Douglas Story every week. The 2016 Summer Olympics had her cheering for Gabby even more but really it’s the movie that she can’t get enough of and she literally watches it on repeat thanks to the Lifetime Movie Club.
I know this movie word for word and I’ll happily let my little gymnast binge on it because she is so inspired by Gabby, gymnastics and the storyline. I load it up the Lifetime Movie Club app on the iPad, let her find a cozy place to relax and she’s in heaven. And when both kids are tucked in bed and Daddy is watching his own show, I take the iPad back and log in the app again to watch grown up movies.
I grew up on Lifetime movies, y’all. Every Sunday after church, my Mom, sister and I would come home, get comfortable and curl up to watch a Lifetime movie. I remember these days fondly and I’m so glad technology is making it so that I can relive those moments through these movies. The best thing about the app? I can ALSO watch it on my Roku.
