You guys. I mean, my goodness…I don’t even feel the need to do too much writing in this post because I just want you to look at these beautiful pictures. They tell enough of a story. Do you know who Lupita is? If you don’t, I guarantee that you’ll know a little bit about who she is just by these pictures.
These pictures were shot by Mario Testino for Vogue magazine and while photography isn’t my primary career focus, it is a serious passion of mine. I can only hope to shoot and edit pictures this beautiful at some point in my life. Vogue had the honor of following Lupita to her home in Kenya and my goodness, I felt something while scrolling through these pictures.
Am I Kenyan? I had such an appreciation for the color and happiness on faces and the beauty across Lupita and her family. I think it’s high time I get one of those DNA kits, friends. I’m feeling some kind of connection to my possible cousin Lupita.
I’m not a magazine reader but I can appreciate when American magazines give us worldly viewpoints.
I mean yes, Lupita is an actress that plays in Amerian films but her Kenyan roots and experiences are very much a part of her. I feel honored just being able to visually get a peek at her life.
To get more information about this shoot, visit Vogue. I’m going to be picking up the magazine myself and I want to do so something very different with these images. Maybe make some sort of collage? Mmmm…
And as for her new movie Queen of Katawe? Well, I’ll be the seeing it the second it comes out.
