I don’t fan girl for many people. Okay, so I know that sounds awful but celebrities are just…regular people to me. With money. So what! I find more inspiration from the people posted on Humans of New York. But my girl Taraji P. Henson? I dig her. She’s been on my radar since the 90’s and there’s just something really cool about this gal. She could easily be an Aunt of mine and her character in Empire? Yes girl!
I mean, Taraji is soooo playin’ that role. The MAC X Taraji P. Henson hasn’t officially launched yet but MAC Cosmetics sent me a few of the products and I just had to test them out so I could let you girls know what you HAVE to have.
Your first glance at the ad and you think what? Say it with me…
Taraji is glowing like mad and I’ve been on a mission to cop that Taraji and Felicia Walker Benson glow because giiiiiirl, these ladies got it.
The 6-piece collection has something for everyone, but I really think it’s the Mineralize Skinfinishes that will rock everyone’s world.
Now y’all know I’m no professional but I’m thinking that both of these will work wonders on darker skin. Disagree with me? I’d love to see some of my people with lighter skin tones rock these MSFs. Please prove me wrong. But Taraji Glow on in its reddish brown glory on my cheeks?
Sheer love. I was concerned about this bad boy because I just didn’t know how to apply it at first. It’ll be a forever staple simply because you just don’t see shades like this too often.
It didn’t woo me at first glance, but I don’t know…I think I can work with it more.
Now Highlight the Truth is a soft bronze coral with gold shimmer and while pretty, I’m thinking you’ve come across a shade like this in your life before. Not insanely unique but still pretty. A little goes a long way.
Be careful with this one, girl. I’m not even kidding. Load up your brush and sweep like a mad woman if you want to. You’ll be walking around looking like your middle name is Disco Ball.
Now that that’s a bad thing.
I’m just sayin’…
The only lipstick in the collection is Strip Me Down and this matte is a deep tone beige. We’re just now seeing nude lipsticks for us darker people of the world and shoot, man…it’s about time! I was on the fence about this one but it’s actually a really decent nude against my skin.
I think I’m finding it challenging because I prefer brighter and bolder lip colors but for a decent nude, I’m shocked at how well this one is working. And yeah, I know it doesn’t look like I have anything on but I guess that’s the point, right? Truthfully, nude lipsticks confuse me a bit and make me feel like I’m a corpse. HA! Removing the morbid bit aside though, it’s not baaaad.
You bettta go, Taraji! Thank you, MAC Cosmetics for giving this bright and fabulous woman her own collection. She just has one of those positive spirits that radiates and I want nothing but the best for her career-wise.
Love you much, Auntie T!

Oh! And I compiled my snaps on Snapchat into a little video. It’s just my first impressions and I got the names of the MSFs all messed up but still..enjoy my antics!
Whatcha think? Are you a Taraji fan? Nude lip fan? Glow on the cheeks fan?
