Oh yeah, my travel list.
Soooo about that. Remember that time when I was all like “I’m sick of making excuses about traveling blah blah blah…I’m going to renew my passport and I’m going to travel like crazy!”
Here we are in March and I haven’t boarded anyone’s plane and have barely gone 20 miles away from my home. *snort* I am not ashamed. I am not bummed. The year just started, right? Kinda? Eh?
Plus, okay…it probably wasn’t a good idea to make that declaration the same year I decided to dig myself out of debt. Good news is this…dreams are free. So until I can fund a trip to Fiji, girlfriend, you can’t stop me from dreaming about it.
I can dream about the ocean waters in all of their turquoise essence. Thank you Is That A Spear In Your Pocket for taking me there.
I can dream of buttery lemon creams that are rich and opaque and are twinsies to the shade of the bananas in Fiji. Wait. Are there bananas in Fiji? Don’t quote me on that. Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet, you are a beauty.
Not Tan Lines transports me to that tangerine orange that you see when the sun is setting over the water. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you? It’s in between that hot red and faint orange?
And then there’s Getting Nadi on my Honeymoon. It is the kind of color I’d wear on my toes as I wiggle my perfectly manicured feet on my beach chair. The beach chair that I’d be sitting on for hours upon hours. I’d read, fall into a nap, wake up for a snack and nap again. I’d splash in the water and you guessed it…back to a nap.
The color of my beach towel. The one that I finally decide to wrap myself up in when I finalllly decide to leave the beach. Said towel is the same color as Two-Timing the Zones. Yes, a traditional girly pink that I’ve never been a fan of but polishes this opaque get mad love from me.
It’s the islands, honey. Polly Want a Lacquer looks just like whipped purple sweet potato coconut milk ice cream. Doesn’t that sound decadent? All of the pleasures of ice cream sans what it does to folx like me who are lactose intolerant. Too much information? Probably. I’m sorry.
Some beaches have black sand, pink sand and super white sand but I imagine the beaches in Fiji have sand that looks like Coconuts Over OPI.
Living on the Bula-vard is such a bold and bright coral and I’d wear a dress in the exact same shade. I’d lounge in an outdoor restaurant, dance with strangers, meet new friends and create memories in paradise.
I mean, seriouslyyyyyy. Can this be my life? Please? I’m working on it. Fiji will see me. OPI has 4 more colors from this collection but these are the ones that spoke to me. As always, you can grab these beauties from ULTA and ULTA.com at $10 a bottle.
Wait for me, Fiji. You’ll see me soon.
