Can we sit for a minute and marvel in the fact that I swatched all of these nail polishes in one day? It’s amazing what I can do when I really put my mind to it. And OPI Washington DC, seriously? What an absolutely relevant collection for one fantastic city and I’m so grateful that OPI sent these over my way…
Esposo is from the DC area and before I met him, I put it out in the universe that I wanted to meet a dude from DC. Okay, Maryland was close enough but I’ve always loved the sophistication and classiness that many people from this city have. And I looooove visiting. DC during the Spring is absolutely beautiful and this city has so much to offer.
The fabulous Kerry Washington helped in curating this collection of 12 permanent and 3 limited edition colors and I think she did a fabulous job.
We the Female is a creamy burgundy. Shades like these are pretty staple in most of OPI’s largest collections. It’s not unique but it’s pretty!
Shhh…It’s Top Secret is a dark eggplant + mud and I probably have a dozen shades like this but it’s sooo pretty.
Pale to the Chief is a creamy bone and a borderline Grandma. Definitely not my favorite of the bunch but it this melted vanilla bean ice cream-esque shade has its place in the collection.
Suzi – The First Lady of Nails is a murky moss army green and I will never not like funk nail colors like these. NEVER.
“Liv” in the Gray is quite literally the best gray ever with more black than white. The shine without a topcoat is realllly nice. So yes, you’ve seen a ton of gray nail polishes but this is a really nice one.
Never a Dulles Moment is a vintage mustard. This yarm yellow will probably be more wearable than most yellows.
Freedom of Peach is another Grandma shade that just isn’t up my alley. Peach shades don’t work so well for me. It had a flawless application, though.
Kerry Blossom is a purple based wine that’s rich and stunning. I mean, if you don’t get any other shade from this collection, this is probably the one that you need to get. I only have few shades that are THIS rich and purple.
Inside the Isabelletway is a caramel. It’s one of those shades you will really love or hate. I’m so not a fan. It just doesn’t look good against my skin but I think it’s one of the more popular shades in the collection.
Stay Off The Lawn!! doesn’t look like a grassy green but more like the green on those plastic flowers. It’s interesting and fun.
OPI By Popular Vote is a strawberry pink with not much personality. We’ve seen a ton of colors like this.
CIA = Color Is Awesome is a pretty shade but the name is so incredibly cheesy. Ha! Something about this navy blue reminds me so much of the District of Columbia. This shade just screams DC! As pretty as it is, be careful about this one. It stains!
Yank My Doodle is a terracotta that looks so much like Freedom of the Peach. It isn’t as bright but I’ve got the same sentiments on how it looks on me. Meh!
Madam President is bright pink and we know how well OPI does these. If you don’t have a pink like this, it’s worth a snag. It isn’t unique but it’s pretty!
Squeaker of the House is my favorite shade in the entire collection. There’s something special about this shade. It’s like a dusty purple brown and it’s so chic and beautiful!
Availability: ULTA, JCPenny Salons and anywhere newer OPI nail polish collections are sold.
Squeaker of the House, CIA = Color Is Awesome, Kerry Blossom, “Liv” in the Gray
Anyone else love Washington, DC? And which shade is your favorite?
