I have a mustache.
And I’ve admitted this to y’all before. I’m not ashamed of this. Why should I be? I’m a mammal and we grow hair. It’s how it has always been.
I also have at least 2 dozen little hairs that pop up around my chin. I don’t know whether those bad boys are because of my hormones, age or just genetics but they are beeeeeyooooond annoying.
It is what it is, ya know?
Here’s the thing…I’ve never been one of those women who freaks out about body hair. My close friends know that I am the hippie chick who will happily trek her not so freshly shaved legs to the beach with no problem. My eyebrows aren’t always snatched and I’ve got curly hairs alllll over my arms.
In case you missed it, I’m hairy.
And okay with it.
Howeverrrrr, I know a lot of us aren’t. I remember being all Judge’y Jean after finding out that some of my college roommates shaved DAILY because even stubble was unacceptable to them.
And while that’s not how I roll, the last thing I want to do is judge anybody for how they take care of their body. As an old wise soul once said,
“Do you, boo.”
And so I will. That said, when the hairs on my legs are finally long enough to braid and I feel like it’s time to remove some hair, I’ve been all over these Parissa Wax Strips.
Don’t be afraid, friend. Hear me out.
I will say this…if you have never waxed yourself before EVER, I highly recommend doing it professionally first. Or at the very least, have a friend or partner that you trust to help you through this process. As for me? I’ve been self-waxing, hair coloring and doing all kinds of crazy experiments since I was a teenager. I am not new to this game.
I am fairly new to Parissa and having used these strips for several weeks, I have to say…I’m a fan! Especially since these strips are mess-free.
Wait…how can they be mess-free? It’s WAX!
I know what you’re thinking and I was a bit of skeptic too until I tried these. For one thing, if you’re a bit of klutz and don’t want to be bothered with wax, these are perfect. Because the wax is contained on the strips, all you need to do is warm with your hands, apply and remove. That’s IT.
Be honest, B. Does this hurt?
Um, yah. I’m not even going to lie to you. I have a high pain tolerance (remember when I did this?) and even I find waxing a bit painful. However, I’ve never experienced any discomfort seconds after removing the wax. After the initial removal, I’m good.
I don’t have time to deal with a ton of waxing.
And you think I do? I sure don’t. Lazy hair removin’ folx like me invest very little time in hair removal and when I do, if it takes more than a few minutes, I’m giving up. That said, these are so easy that you can travel with them and not have to deal with too much fuss. From start to finish, I was able to do an entire leg in less than 3 minutes. BOOM.
So how does this work?
- Warm strips between your hands
- Peel back strips
- Apply to intended area
- Apply Post Epilation Azulene Oil and move on with your life
I think the most challenging part is trying to open up the top of the oil. Other than that, this process couldn’t be easier. I think one of my favorite aspects about these kits is how the strips are reusable.
How many strips do you need?
Of course, this depends on how much hair you have and how well you are at removing. I can use 4 strips on each leg. This 40 strip box goes for $16 so depending on how fast your hair grows, you can get a few months off of just one box. Not bad, right?
In testing this product, I really wanted to test and then have hair grow back to test again but the hair that I removed on my legs still has not returned in 4 weeks!
And so I’m testing on my arm…
What do you think? Would you be okay with doing some at home-waxing?
