I hate Revlon mascaras. Yeah, I said it. I know it’s pretty risky making such a claim about a brand as big as them but I’ve reviewed so many of their mascaras and most, if not ALL of them have sucked. I purchased their Revlon Ultimate All-In-One mascara only because a friend of mine wanted to get my thoughts on it. My expectations were anything but high so mmmm, let’s see if this mascara turned me into a believer.
Price: $5.99 from Target and Target.com
Packaging (brush wand): 1 out of 5
Overall: 0 out of 5
What I Loved About It: I didn’t love anything. This mascara is baaaaad.
What I Didn’t Like: It’s flaky beyond belief. It also doesn’t lift or volumize. I mean, at all.
Overall: Welp, I knew it. I mean, it’s so disappointing that Revlon hasn’t gotten it together yet in the mascara department. I made the mistake of looking at reviews before trying this and wooooow, just about every review is a negative one. The wand is okay. But just okay. It looks like it’ll be great for my toddler but for the rest of us? No.
Are the bristles nice and long? Well, no. Are you able to get this tiny lashes and inner corners? Definitely not. Lots of short comings with that wand, but it is still one of their better ones so I can’t hate it too much.
The formula though? The mud brewing outside in my yard from a rain storm may be better. The formula on this mascara is terrible to say the least. At first glance, it appears to be just fine. It has a workable consistency. Once it hits the lashes, all hell breaks loose because it’s as if you can’t sweep it through the lashes. The wand’s short bristles make this challenging enough but it’s as if you keep trying to put the product on the lashes and…you just can’t get enough of it on there. It’s mind boggling to say the least.
Okay, so I did manage to get a good 2 coats on there. What happens next? Within an hour, it was flaking all down my eyes. My eyes were irritated and by the end of the day, the mascara seemed to have just vanished. Wow.
Man. Please save your money and purchase a better mascara. This is NOT it.
Fail on top of fail.
Do I recommend it?: Absolutely not. It’s a terrible mascara.
Yep, good ole’ Revlon. I wonder when they’ll get it together. It’s as if they’d rather focus on other products than put good quality work into product good quality mascaras. I guess it doesn’t matter though because people buy them up anyway. This was the display I saw in Target…
