I first met Shannon when she emailed me asking if she could interview me for her website. We had some kind of cool e-connection thang goin’ on and reading her About page made me quite honored that she even reached out to me. Plus, I love women who seek to inspire and help women.
What do you do?
I teach women how to launch a WordPress website in just an hour a day over 5 days with no coding and no BS that you don’t need to know. My training series is free because I want to empower women that want to start a business by taking away one of the major roadblocks to launching – not having the money to pay someone to build a website, and not having the skills to build one. If you’ve got something awesome to share with this world you’ve got no reason to hold it back!! WordPress is my talent, and I just gotta share it with people!
Where can we find you?
Over at WP-BFF. I share lots of inspirational stories about women that have started their own online business AND I will teach you how to create a website so you can finally catch that dream you’ve been chasing.
You can only have 1 skill. What skill would that be?
Eyeliner application. Not Kidding.
What’s your favorite social media outlet and why?
YouTube! I’ve learned how to pick a lock, re-caulk my shower… I work on my fitness with free workouts from Fitness Blender’s YouTube channel – and then there’s just time-wasting hilarity all over YouTube. Plus that’s where I host my WP*BFF tutorials, so….
Facebook is a very close second – because of groups. I’ve *met* so many amazingly smart, helpful people in Facebook groups, and I can communicate on a deeper level with people because I can use as many words as I want! I have a hard time being limited to 140 characters…
You are an incredible inspiration, but tell us…who inspires you?
Any person who had to overcome incredible obstacles and/or struggles and has excelled. People who have the persistence and self discipline to be the exception and not the rule. There is a special fire in those people. They inspire me.
Do you have any advice for a girl or woman out there who is struggling to find her purpose or make her voice be heard?
Don’t wait for perfection, it’s a myth. Believe that you are perfect the way you are right this minute and just take action. You don’t have to be the best at something for it to be your purpose – there’s always someone that’s a step behind you that needs what you have to offer NOW.
And when you get excited about something but then that inner voice tells you you’re not enough – tell it to shut the f*ck up and just do what you want to do – eventually that voice will go away. Treat yourself like you would your best friend – if you wouldn’t say it to your best friend why the hell would you say it to yourself? Once you silence that inner voice you’ll be surprised how many people will hear you.
What makes this life thing beautiful?
Family. Friends. Freedom.
