Hey girl, hey!
Did you know that Shea Moisture makes more than just awesome hair and body care products?
When I first saw the ad for in on Facebook, I shrieked with delight–literally. I’m a crunchy mama and love their hair products because of all the juices and berries they put in there really make my girls and I’s hair look phenomenal. My husband is a huge fan of their Black Soap line and the baby products got me through those moments I didn’t feel like making the kids’ products.
But now they have something that’s JUST.FOR.ME!
Shea Moisture Beauty Line
They have EVERYTHING! Foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and all the lippies you need!
SheaMoisture Weightless Shea Serum Foundation
I have a weird (but beautiful) undertone situation. They are sometimes red and sometimes yellow and if I’m not careful about what foundation I wear, I can end up looking orange. No shade to OITNB but it’s just not sexy for me. But Shea Moisture nailed it here. If you have skin that’s on the more oily side beware of this–it’s definitely not your matte foundation.
Pro-Tip: Because it’s getting hot out you may not want to go full coverage with your foundation. Mix 1 squirt of this foundation with your moisturizer and boom! Light coverage that won’t sweat off terribly!
SheaMoisture Shea Butter Luscious Lipstick
These were really moisturizing and felt great on my lips. They smelled delightful too! These are the shades that I tried:
- Poppy
- Deep Plum
- Nectar
- Coral
My fave was the Deep Plum. This goth-look is giving me so.much.life right now!
SheaMoisture Ultra Smooth Long Wear Eye Pencil
I tried this in the Violet color since purple is known to bring out the beautiful tones of my brown eyes. I loved it. It’s truly long wear since by the end of the day it was still going strong.
SheaMoisture Absolute Volumizing Mascara
Like my beautiful Brit, I’m a mascara snob. I believe eyes are the windows to the soul and I’m trying to highlight mine with windstorm creating lashes. This mascara was good–not great. I did 3 coats and got some good definition.
SheaMoisture Superfruit Sheer Hydration Lip Gloss
I tried this out in Fig. It felt good going on and is great for everyday wear. The brush makes it easy to preserve this gloss for awhile. This isn’t your “my lipgloss is POPPIN” kind of gloss–more of a natural sheen. I loved it and because it was such a natural color, I even shared with my girls.
What I love about this makeup line is that it’s quality and it’s not going to break your pockets. These babies will dip into your pockets for anywhere from $5-$15 which is good to me. The fact that they are catering to the black women and making sure that the beautiful skin tones that we’re rocking have a place to call home in the mainstream makeup aisles is a definite plus and why I’ll continue to support them! I already have the lip exfoliator and some others on my radar!
Which one of these tickles your fancy?
