Oh darlings, I know I’ve been pretty ghost around these parts. It seems as if Clumps of Mascara is a 3rd grader on summer break. Ha! Too bad I don’t get the opportunity to get any real breaks. I mean, Esposo did put me up in a hotel so that I could be relieved of mama duties and trust me, that was sooooo appreciated.
Until our huge relaunch and site redesign in the Fall (I can’t wait for you guys to see it! I really hope you love it), things will be a bit quiet with 1-2 posts a week. But I’m not quiet everywhere. I’m alllll over Snapchat, Instagram and the Clumps of Mascara Facebook page houses some of the best and most beautiful people in the world.
If you’ve been following me on Snapchat, you know that I’ve been hooooooked on Skincare items lately. Like, I can’t get enough. I’ve vowed to be more invested in the products that I use and I really just want to get into a nice routine. I’m 31 and wrinkle-free NOW, but shoot…I won’t be forever 31. Hehe, see what I did there?
So here we are! My current skincare loves…
Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum (here, $59.50-$154.00)*
Don’t judge me on this, will you? I’ve been hooked on serums for a hot little minute. And before this year, I never really used serums. The fabulous people at Clinique sent this over my way and given that I’ve never really had a bad experience with Clinique products, I happily dove into this and just knew I’d see great things. One word, y’all…
Yaaaaaaas!
This serum came with a lot of high expectations. When you tell me that you’re going to firm and lift my skin, improve the radiance and texture AND reduce dark spots, you bettttter be hot stuff. And hot stuff it is. I’ve been using this daily and nightly and I’m obsessed with touching my skin. I’ve never felt it so soft before! Makeup just glides on my cheeks and I don’t ever want to stop using this because I want to see how it can continue to change my skin. This is faaaar from cheap, but whatever. I’ll give up Netflix if I have to because this kind of investment in my skincare game is SO worth it.
MILK MAKEUP Hero Salve Balm (here, $20)
Okay, listen…I’m not one to shell out money on basic products. I’m not really calling the brand MILK MAKEUP basic because they are anything but basic, but a salve? I mean, come on. You’ve seen one and you’ve seen all, right? WRONG! I’ve been using this on my lips every morning and night. I also slather it on my elbows and my daughter’s face and it’s just an excellent moisturizing and nourishing little balm.
It’s pricey but a little goes a long way and it’s a product that I know my vegan friends would absolutely love.
Nourish Organic Face Toner (here, $14.99)*
Toners are another product that are pretty new to my regimen. I didn’t think they’d benefit me since I have drier skin but I was sooooo wrong. Nourish Organic is a brand that I’ve been dabbling around with and so many of their products surprise me. Aside from everything being affordable, the products that I’ve tried from them have been very gentle on the skin. I’m a huge fan of the toner as I love that it doesn’t dry my skin out 3 seconds after I’ve sprayed it. Plus, the ingredients are super simple…
Could you really ask for more? I’m becoming such a huge fan of this brand!
Caudalie Instant Detox Mask (here, $39.00)*
Masks. If you’ve tried one, you’ve tried them all. WRONG. Caudalie is actually a brand that I’ve really grown to love because their natural products aren’t just gentle on my face, but man…they work! I use this mask every Sunday evening.
It starts off my week and every morning after I’ve applied it, I wake up to super smooth skin that feels like it was kissed by a pillow. I’m not even kidding. It is a fantastic mask.
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray (here, $30.00)
This isn’t exactly a “skincare” item. It really leans more in the makeup world, but let me tell you. You need this. I’ve never been a setting spray kind of girl but with this insane heat and wanting to keep my foundation, concealer and blush/illuminator in check, this Spray has been wooooonderful. I purchased it at The Makeup Show NYC and I’ll never stop using it. It reallllllly allows makeup to last forever and ever. Plus, it just feels so good when spritzed on the skin.
What about you, babe? Have products have you been using and loving these days? See you on Snap!
FTC Disclosure: Some of the above products were sent to me. Those items were marked with an *.
