I just got my passport in the mail yesterday. This comes after I booked not one but TWO international trips before I had even renewed my expired passport. This is craziness. This is also my life, y’all. I do nutty things like this regularly.
I’m going on a trip. Or two. Or three. 2017 isn’t even here yet but I’ve vowed to be a wunderlusting mamacita. And you know what did it for me? I was mindlessly scrolling Facebook one day (which, is never a good idea – NEVER!) and came across these captivating pictures. A friend of mine had just posted pictures from her trip to Italy and I was swooning.
I was also jealous. Yep. Jealous.
But if anything, it encouraged me to go to Italy, too! And if not there…somewhere! And by myself, man. Yes, I want I want trips with the family, with my man and gal pals but I REALLY need this time for me.
And so I’m putting together some travel essentials…
Boots Botanics is one of those brands that I always looked at but never really showed any love to. And I’m not sure why because their products are absolutely up my alley. How could I ignore them for so long? I have no idea since my local Target has a nice display of their products. And considering I’m ALWAYS in Target, I should have been hip to BB a long time ago.
Better late than never, girl.
The following are taking up a permanent space in my travel bag. For obvious reasons. I don’t care how trendy they are. Micellar Waters are so.freaking.wonderful. I’m loving this one.
I’ve been using oil-based makeup removers for so long but man, these just feel better on the skin because they feel like water. That’s it! I soak a cotton pad in one of these and swipe it all over my face and my cleanser works THAT much harder to cleanse my skin since it has such a decent palette to start with, ya know?
I’ve been in love with my day cream from Acure for awhile but this is a close second.
Low on the fumes, emollient but not greasy AND I’ve got sunscreen?
It’s the little things, ya’ll. The little things! And if you know nothing about me, know this. I LOVE serums. I’ve known about them forever and a day but I didn’t start regularly using them until ooooh, this year, maybe? And now I can’t get enough. My skin loves them and pretty much any time I see a serum, I’m just like. “Want it, need it, this is mine. The end.”
I’m not spotting this serum on Target’s website but serums are priceyyyyyy. The fact that this one is not is well, it’s remarkable. Serum lovers who are afraid of the prices may want to check this baby out since it’s likely under $20.
While I haven’t given this a test drive yet, eye creams/products are other thangs that are new to my skincare routine as of 2016.
This All Bright Refreshing Eye Roll-On (find it here) is unlike many because it doesn’t just target puffy eyes (which actually isn’t my problem) but the dark circles under the eyes. Okay, don’t hate me but that isn’t my issue either. My main concern is keeping the area under and around my eyes moisturized. That’s it. This cooling roll will feel dynamic after a shower and the fact that it’s under $15 is another reason why I need to give Boots Botanics more love.
Can you even? I can’t. I’ve always settled for mediocre skincare goodies in my travel bag (because I was cheap and only used random samples – not things that my skin actually liked) but now I’m like a real adult and can primp in style. Even while away.
Have you tried anything from this brand?
If you have and didn’t tell me, my feelings are gonna be hurt.
I love the Boots Botanicals line! I use the micellar water every day, it’s my favorite of all the ones I’ve tried. I use the spray toner every day too, it’s light and refreshing and seems to help my skin hold moisture. I also really like their version of MAC’s Strobe creme.. It’s pinker than MAC’s, but it works just as well – maybe even better because I can use it in place of moisturizer in the summer and I can’t really do that with MAC’s. Boots also has an oil that is really lovely, though the smell isn’t really my fave – it smells like citronella bug spray, but it is awesome for when my skin is feeling dry and tight! I haven’t met a product of theirs that I just didn’t like, so I look forward to trying more! 🙂
Enjoy all your trips – can’t wait to hear about them! I’m not in a place financially to be able to do much travelling, but I hope to in the future!
Hey Rachel! Have you tried their Face Wipes? They’re really good, too. I used a few swipes last night because I was too lazy to take off all of my makeup. The wipes removed EVERYTHING and my skin felt so incredibly clean afterward. And hmmm…I used to love Strobe Light so I’ll definitely check that out. So glad to meet a fellow Boots Botanicals lover!
