We’ve seen Zoya’s Paradise Sun collection but now let’s take a look at their Island Fun collection. Full of luscious creams, I couldn’t wait to dive into these babies because at first glance, they really do remind me of summer.
Nana is described as a a deep summer fuchsia, I don’t find Nana to be all of that spectacular. There are probably several dozen polishes out like her. Which kinda makes me sad to say, but I do know polish newbies or those who like to keep things simple will fall head over heels in love with her.
Cecilia is a classic teal and you better apply a base coat before applying this baby. It is the PERFECT summer color but unfortunately, I always avoid wearing pretty colors like this because of the staining. 🙁
Demetria is a vibrant poppy red and I’m so not used to seeing red nail polishes in summer collections. It’s a welcome surprise but not exactly the most unique red I’ve ever seen. But it does have a blue tone to it and I LOVE bluer reds.
Jace is a modern tropical green. It’s a cream, but it’s the only 1 that almost has a jelly finish to it with 1coat. A good 2 coats will give it a nice opaque finish and it definitely reminds me of the palm trees and all things summery green.
Serenity is such a pretty and creamy purple and is definitely my favorite shade of the bunch. It reminds me much more of Spring than it does of Summer, but whatever. I love it anyway. It also looks pretty opaque after 1 coat.
Talia is another stunning stainer. Whyyyy won’t nail polish companies fix the formulas of these shades so that they don’t stain nails even IF you wear a base coat? Is it a chemistry thing? *shrugs* This true turquoise can’t be captured by my camera so what you see, imagine it with a bit more green and more vibrant. It’s one of my favorites in the collection and is definitely a great addition to this summer collection.
OVERALL
You’ll never hear me complain about a collection full of creams. Zoya does creams best. Sadly, while it may not be Zoya’s fault, these staining blues really put a damper on the collection for me. Base coats can’t even prevent staining and it makes me cry that I can’t confidently rock two of the fiercest colors in the collection. Still, while nothing is unbelievable striking here, I do think this collection compliments Paradise Sun nicely. However, I will say…it’s time for some shock from Zoya. It has been awhile since they have really BLOWN MY MIND!
What do you think? Are you a fan of this collection of stunning creams? You can purchase this collection here for $9/bottle or $54 for the entire collection.
Disclosure: I received a press sample of these polishes for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really adore how Cecilia looks on you, but the staining is a deal-breaker for sure!
Jace is really unique, I love it.
